I had a breakdown and thought it could be the battery, so called my breakdown cover company who sent GRS. Lee arrived within half hour or so of my call, tested the battery and checked diagnostics, found no issue but the car wouldn’t start over. Completed a recovery towing my car on the flatbed truck all the way home and parking it where I normally park at home. Great service throughout the whole time. Thank you!

Broke down on very dark road on A31 near ringwood, cars flying past GRS got to us very quickly, checking to see my disabled elderly husband was ok while they werenon their way, very reassuring, took us 25 miles home & Thomas was fantastic helped get my husband into his wheelchair & got broken car safely parked, the service was fantastic from start to finish, they are an efficient effective company with a caring company ethic. This evening Adrian and Billy rescued me after a blown out tyre on my camper van on a busy road. They were absolutely brilliant - friendly, efficient, calming, skilful and informative. They were super quick on the scene and made me feel safe and looked after, even giving me advice of what I needed to do next to get the spare wheel seen to. My car was immobile due to steering lock failure. GRS operative Lee arrived within half an hour loaded the car and drove it to my garage. We became aware of GRS Recovery when we called the AA for assistance after sustaining a puncture. GRS were sent to assist us on behalf of the AA. GRS kept us informed of their commitment to assist us and arrived within 1 hour of our call. Lee assessed our problem, we had a puncture, but have a car with no spare, and our attempts to use the 'quick repair kit' failed. Instead of taking the easy option of getting us to a garage to resolve our problem, he repaired the puncture himself with a magic repair kit. We were very impressed with the service we received, thank you, especially Lee, he is a superstar!

Brilliant service from Dom. 4 weeks ago I broke down on a busy main road, school closing time. Called National Breakdown who organised GRS Recovery. I was kept up to date with eta and was also called to check they had arrived. Dom, from GRS arrived within 2 hours, sat me in the cab while he put my car on his pickup, only took 10 minutes! It was a really cold afternoon/evening so I was really grateful to have been recovered so quickly. As a woman on her own, I felt very safe, Dom was kind, considerate and understanding. GRS would be my first call without hesitation should I find myself in a similar position. Thank you GRS team and particularly Dom.

My van wouldn’t start and I really felt it was a problem as I was unable to work. That was until James arrived ( at the end of his shift) to help me out. He arrived in a really friendly helpful way. He immediately put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands then. Suffice to say he fixed the van with real professionalism and then made some other checks to ensure all was ok. On holiday in Swanage with my wife when two brackets holding the exhaust on my oldish merc broke away. Jack from GRS Recovery turned up at 9.30am as promised and spent thirty minutes under the car securing the exhaust with ties. Super friendly team who got us out of a rough spot when the van broke down on the last run during a house move. They came out late on Friday night to try fix it, couldn’t sort at the side of the road (no fault of theirs at all), and organised quick recovery of the van shortly after. Managed to squeeze the flatbed into the tightest spot I’ve ever seen, and worked quickly to get us moving again. Afraid I didn’t get either of the guys names who helped us, but what a credit to the company. 100% recommend, and although I hopefully won’t need their services again, I’d be thrilled if it was GRS who come to help next time.

Our car broke down in Poole the AA subbed the job out to this company after having numerous bad experiences with recovery companies it is refreshing to find a good one. The truck turned up within two hours which was earlier than we were originally told and got us home. Their truck is a state of the art truck with a very nice cab and charging facilities in the back. Breaking down is obviously, stressful, time consuming and disheartening. Especially after a week away camping!That said, our recovery with GRS was probably the best experience you can have with something like this.They were quick to our location, professional and courteous. The vehicle was well maintained and they got us home, a whole 2 and a half hours away, in bank holiday traffic, in great time, without any changes.On a personal note, I really want to thank Tris, the driver, as he was so lovely to the kids and went out of his way to engage with them about their holiday and to keep them entertained. It really was a next level of customer service.We really want to thank him for everything he did. We can't recommend them enough.

My van broke down in highcliffe and after 2 visits from GRS it was decided to recover it back home. So a chap called Jamie called to say he has the van and on his way. I needed the van on the drive as im a mobile dog groomer so needed to carry on working from home in the van. I explained this to Jamie and with winching shunting for about 20 mins he managed to get it excatly where I needed it. I can honestly say that Jamie is an outstanding operative who knows excatly what to do with his lorry. Absolutely over the moon with the service. GRS came to my aid today when my car broke down in a Sainsbury's car park. I received a call to tell me they were on the way and asked my location within the car park. I felt instantly at ease with just the phonecall.Gentleman arrived a few moments later with a gentle and sympathetic smile. He checked over the car for me as best he could just to be sure it wasn't a quick fix issue, alas the car was not going to start.He talked me through the next steps for getting the car onto the truck and getting home. Helped me and my young daughter into the back of his truck before doing the necessaries with the car. Tackling all manner of grumpy people in the process. Poor fellow. But he never let that effect his interactions with myself and my daughter. My little one had the best experience! And so did I.We were home safe and sound in no time and I cannot thank him enough. Our hero!Would recommended GRS to anyone in a bit of a pinch like the one I found myself in today.

A deserved mention and heartfelt thank you to GRS Recovery. The team did a truly spectacular job recovering my car especially Tris, who took on the task of rescuing my tiny car, Delilah. Even when my car was being recovered i was updated and sent photos of my car and even a tiny memorabilia video of my car before she went away 🥲the service, support, and kindness from the entire team were outstanding and genuinely felt. as a young driver, i was in a bad state and shock after my crash accident on the B3070 road towards lulworth cove at 11.30 i rung AA and the came in about 1HR after it happened, they couldn’t recover my car then and there due to insufficient supplies, so coming down the road was a GRS van and we managed to flag him down and they said they could recover my car. i went through insurance and my company placed the job on GRS anyway. but Tris, along with a lovely woman (whose name i unfortunately, didn’t catch) helped calm me down and reassured me that everything would be okay and they went above and beyond by helping me navigate the insurance and documentation process when I didn’t know where to start. I feel extremely lucky to be here and I’m beyond thankful for everything the GRS team did for me. Thank you so much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼sad goodbye to delilah but she was handled with care by tris and his team!

I can’t thank James from GRS Recovery enough for his incredible help when I broke down on the busy Hurn Road on Friday, 4th July evening. It was a really stressful situation, but James arrived quickly and handled everything with such professionalism and care. He managed to get my car safely off the road and moved me to a safer location, which was such a relief.Not only did he fix my car right there and then, but he also went the extra mile by calling me later before his shift ended, just to make sure I was okay. I've been recovered twice by Dan from GRS and can't speak highly enough of the service - he really knows his stuff and diagnosed the problem within minutes and got me going again.He is also very personable and pleasant in his manner, which helps when stranded in the middle of nowhere!Only issue was a two hour wait on the first call-out, but it was a busy time. Less than an hour on the second.

Dominic came and rescued us after we had a shredded tyre on the A31. Our contract meant that we had to be taken to our local dealership - who couldn’t help! - so without any fuss he reloaded it onto the low-loader and took us to someone who could help, saving not just the day, but a good couple of days, as we were 200 miles away from home! I lost all power to my vehicle at 9pm on Wednesday evening.The breakdown could not have been in a worse place, on the main road through Corfe Castle in Dorset: , narrow, on an uphill bend, unlit in the shadow of the Castle.Within 10 mins of the AA putting me in touch with GRS a mechanic arrived, moved the car to a safer location, determined I needed to be recovered and ordered the pick up.The truck, driven by Dominic, arrived in less than an hour, gave me notice of his arrival, picked me up and delivered my very kaput vehicle to my normal repair garage in Swanage and then me to my home in the town.Dominic was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and charming. My breakdown cover arranged for GRS to recover my vehicle stuck in reverse gear due to clutch hydraulic failure that was in a busy Aldi car park in the evening. He excellently manoeuvered my vehicle somehow onto his recovery truck and was able to drop it off at my local garage up a lane and park whilst still stuck in Reverse gear all the time. He went out of his way to help me excellent service which I would had struggled with. Many thanks 👍

GRS recovered my campervan when it's brakes failed on the slipway of the Sandbanks to Studland ferry on my way to a girls weekend in the PurbecksPhil was so reassuring following my phone call- he arranged for the vehicle to be delivered back to my home in Highcliffe whilst my friend and I were picked up by another friend so that we could continue our weekend break.Shout out to the ferry man Stuart who looked after my keys ( as suggested by Phil) so that I didn't have to hang around for the Recovery truck. I then received a call from Phils colleague, once the van was safely home and the keys put through the letter box. All together a brilliant service at an extremely competitive price.Would highly recommend!

After my tyre bursting and thinking I just needed a quick tyre change, I discovered that the car had more damage so needed to be taken to a garage after a Google search I got some quotes. GRS were reccomemded by my local garage. I rang them and the staff were brilliant on the phone! I’ve just had a gentleman come and look at my Mercedes, which I called my warranty company who sent grs out, well they came out within 40 mins, and what a lovely gentleman who ran a diagnostics test on my car and cleared the fault, and now is work fine, he went through the issues. Absolutely excellent service from GRS. Had to be recovered on Saturday from outside Dorchester. Initial call was via Volvo Assistance but when GRS picked up the job it was beyond what I expected. Got to me within 20 minutes even though the insurance company said 90 so very speedy. James, who was the mechanic took the time and effort to find the fault and repair it when it was thought to just be a jumpstart, rather than just recovering the vehicle. 10 days ago at 9.30 at night, we turned off our ignition while waiting in a queue at a level crossing in Lymington. When we went to re-start it, our car key fob wouldn't work. We have a 'keyless' car so were completely stuck. We were in a very dangerous position... broken down in the middle of the road....and very worried indeed.Fortunately the AA contacted Adrian from GRS who immediately called us to say he was on his way, but was coming from Bournemouth. He rang us several times during his journey to update us on his progress and reassure us.He was a STAR! It turned out that our key fob battery had just 'died' without any warning. (Apparently they do this!) Fortunately he had a spare battery for his own key fob, which he gave us. From the minute he first called, we knew we were going to be well looked after. At half past midnight, we were on our way again. Adrian was really great and we cannot recommend GRS highly enough. Thankyou!

Had to book GRS today to tow my car. Sarah came to pick the car up and the service was first class. She was patient throughout, easy to get on with. Thank you so much to Adrian who went well above and beyond standard customer service. I had a non starter battery that required a boot and maybe because it was Saturday night took quite some time to get sorted. That has nothing to do with this review. Adrian, a gentleman with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor, -and a patient non-condecending way of discussing these issues I was having, made the roadside assist, a pleasant interaction rather than the "Stand back, don't talk to me, I know what I'm doing attitude we have all experienced before. He had me started instantly and then in a extremely kind gesture followed me the 1.5 miles or so back to my home -just in case the stop start kicked in, whereupon only half of that stop/start thing would apply, the wrong half.. That was something he did not have to do but was so appreciated. Top service.. Thank you Adrian and GRS recovery for employing such helpful staff as well! 6 stars.

I had GRS come out to my car this week due to my car keys being stolen. I have to say the the chap who was working that night on the phones went above and beyond for me. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he got me out of a hole and saved me alot of money. Even the driver of the recovery truck done his best to make sure my car had got on to his lorry as my electric handbrake was locked on so managed to put the wheels on skates. Highly recommended this company.

I thoroughly recommend GRS who were tasked by Audi Assist and the AA to recover my car and I hope they note how pleased I am.Good customer service is commonplace these days. Outstanding customer service rather rarer. Today I experienced the latter from GRS with Jason and Joe on site.My car was stuck in the garage at home. Inoperable electric brake stuck on, no steering and automatic in park. Sounds an easy job? Not so, garage/driveway space is restricted and manoeuvring tight. The thing to note is that every action from removing the car from the garage to putting it on the low loader was considered. Nothing was rushed but every action was completed right and first time. Jason and Joe knew what to do and had the right specialist equipment on site. This was a job done promptly, safely and effectively.Well done and thank you GRS. I'm impressed with your people on site and those in the office who kept me informed.

I managed to break down today in the car park at M&S food hall . The RAC tried to start my car but were unable to do so. They arranged for GRS to transport the car to my garage. GRS arrived in a breakdown lorry driven by Paul. Without any fuss he managed to get my Range Rover Sport out of the busy car park, onto his lorry, and delivered the car and passengers in a short space of time. I broke down extremely late on a very dark dual carriage. Adrian from GRS came out to me. He was so friendly and helpful. He brought me some fuel ⛽ which unfortunately didn't solve my problem so he towed me to the nearest garage where he also stayed with me and then had to charge my battery. All this time he was in the freezing cold and still cheerful. He managed to sort my car issues out and helped me on my way. Adrian is definitely a star 🌟. He really is a bonus to the company. I had a puncture Thursday night (12/01/23). The call to GRS recovery was at 2045, with an estimated time of 2315. ADRIAN turned up in a van at about 2230. He suggested against using the Tyre Mobility Kit (TMK) that comes with modern cars (Kia), and instead used a plug puncture repair. I was on the road by 2300.The speed of recovery was good. ADRIAN's communication and conversation was excellent. The repair was quick and is far superior to using the TMK.

Last Saturday evening coming home from a lovely evening in Swanage, I decided to put my roof down on my convertible to enjoy the sunset on the drive home and unfortunately it got stuck half way down so I couldn’t get it shut or open. Thought I'd locked my keys in the boot whilst changing my jackets. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this possibility until after I'd spent a few hours on the front at Bournemouth. James got the call to come to my aid and retrieve my keys, immediately he pointed out that he doubted the car would have locked with the keys in the boot. However, he used one of his gadgets to see if he could turn the ignition on this didn't work further leading James to think my keys were elsewhere. He very kindly gave me all of the options open to me but again reiterated he was pretty sure my keys were not in the car.Turned out that the good people of Bournemouth had found them and handed them in at The Rock Shop, which I had visited. Quite a relief as the spare is 4 hours away and other options would be expensive and risk damaging the car, the one thing James did not want to do.Also, as a measure of his kindness, he has just called me to see how I got on and sounded as pleased as me that I found my keys.Great service all round, James, thank you very very much, Bob

Last night GRS was sent to cover for the AA. My daughter had broken down and we had managed to get the car safely into a car park. The AA first told me that GRS would arrive by 22.10, then later at 22.40. We went back home (within 5 minutes) to wait. Imagine my surprise when at 21.40 Adrian from GRS phoned to let me know that he had arrived at the car. Adrian was polite, professional, and really knowledgable. Everyone's nightmare, turn the key, nothing!..Called out roadside assistance and James from GRS showed up in about 20 minutes. Diagnosed battery burn out, ruling out alternator and other issues. Carried replacement in his van which was fitted quickly. Real issues with my old Golf trying to reset the ABS steering as warning lights showing due to power off. James, the technician spent some considerable time trying to recalibrate with a smart bluetooth device. Unable to do so he suggested I meet him after his shift where he tried to do same with another device.Car was driveable so did just that and we overcame the issue.Top effort from James and GRS, couldn't have been more helpful.

Helped me massively, fixing the key cylinder on my car on the spot!I had a problem with the key slot for my car ignition being blocked. I spent ages trying to clear it myself and get the key in, however after half an hour of trying to fix it I gave up and called my breakdown cover assuming I’d be taken to a garage and have a replacement key barrel fitted.The GRS Recovery roadside assistant (Rob S) arrived within 30 minutes and managed to repair my cars key cylinder on the spot saving me from having to go to a garage and pay out a lot of money. I highly recommend this company.

Rob the man who came to my rescue was polite and extremely patient. Instead of making me feel stupid because I didn’t understand what was wrong, like some companies do, he took me around to the bonnet and showed me and explained to me in simple terms that I understood. Very painless recovery after our mini had serious timing chain related failure, booked via our admiral breakdown cover. Very helpful lady from GRS checked on phone that we were ok and confirmed recovery truck was on its way. James who recovered us made sure we were safe whilst loading and then unloading at the garage, and took good care of the car. He was very polite and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we could try get our day back on track as soon as possible. Breaking down is never great but this made it as good an experience as it could have been!

On a 4 day Rugby tournament with my son, just outside Poole, I found myself in a predicament with my car. Called my breakdown company (Gem) who subcontract the closest breakdown company and GRS recovery came out to me when I had a flat battery. They carried out a test and it showed my battery was fine and I had left the interior light on. So charged my battery and made sure It was ok. The mechanic made me feel comfortable and wasn't just a sales man pushing me to buy a new battery. Would highly recommend GRS Recovery to anyone that needs honest advise.

I've used grs recovery for a good few years now and never been let down. They have helped transport everything from a ford ka to a Nissan skyline without a single problem and that was pretty low due to modified suspension. The reception is clean and inviting and they have a waiting area with comfy seating should you need to wait. Every recovery driver I've dealt with has been friendly and professional. Fantastic service. Even with extremely heavy traffic a guy arrived in 10 minutes to check if he could get my Motorhome working but unfortunately the clutch had gone. We then had to wait for a larger recovery truck to come and get us. Shaun arrived and could not have been more polite, friendly and helpful. Excellent driver and enjoyed our 3 hour trip back home. It made a bad experience more palatable. From the guy on the end of the phone and both our Romanian mechanic to the lovely Shaun I can't recommend this company enough. Amazing service this morning. Our car broke down in Winchester BP services. After so many towing companies around Winchester area who couldn’t provide us service we contacted GRS services in Bournemouth. Sharon on the phone was lovely and did sorted out our situation very fast and within the few minutes she organised the towing truck for us. And then couple hours later Jason arrived. I have just experienced GRS’s superb service. My car had broken down at Poole harbour ferry car park and the RAC had authorised recovery to my local garage in Hertfordshire. GRS phoned me soon after to confirm my location and the expected time they could send one of their trucks to meet me. A bit later the driver phoned me to let me know he was held up in the traffic waiting for the ferry and asked if I was able to drive the car at all, and if so could he meet up with me on the road outside the ferry area? I was able to do this and we met up. My car was soon loaded onto his truck and we set off, though the driver was concerned he’d go over his allocated hours on the vehicles tachograph by the time he could return to his base. This was overcome by us rendezvousing with another GRS driver at the M27 service area who took over the vehicle I was travelling in and completed the journey to Hertfordshire in good time. Both drivers were extremely competent, professional and good company to travel with. Many thanks GRS for all your help.
