How to Reclaim your Vehicle
If you have had your vehicle seized under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act 1998, for no licence or insurance, you will find details of how to reclaim your vehicle on the seizure notice.
You have seven working days to go to one of the police stations specified on the seizure notice to reclaim your vehicle, or it may be sold or scrapped.
Reclaim your vehicle for no licence or no insurance

Call GRS Recovery on 01202 593939 (Option 2), between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday – Friday, to arrange an appointment to collect your vehicle.

Get your seizure notice from the police STAMPED from the local police station.

Upon collection, you will need to prove your identity with valid photo ID, such as a passport, driving licence, EU national identity card, immigration document.
We cannot accept student or employer’s ID.

You will be required to pay the appropriate release fee and storage fee.
Without any of the above, your vehicle will not be released.

Reclaim your vehicle for no tax

Tax your vehicle and obtain proof of taxation to bring with you.
