Vehicle Recovery Operators
(HGV Class 1 and Class 2)

Due to company expansion, we are currently seeking to recruit a Transport/Recovery Driver, with a minimum 7.5T licence, ideally CAT c, or C1.

The role holder will recover vehicles following a breakdown or accident in a safe and professional manner for both local and long distance vehicle transportation and recovery.

The successful candidate will operate a daytime shift pattern, be provided with a full uniform, PDA smartphone and all equipment necessary to carry out the role effectively.

Applicants must have experience of driving 7.5T, Class 2 / Class 1 vehicles (Cat C or C+E or C1). They must possess a valid DCPC card.

As this position involves dealing with members of the public, strong customer service skills are essential.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate a good knowledge of workplace Health and Safety.

Full Training is given upon induction.

Candidates that do not have the specified licence requirements will not be considered.

Roadside Breakdown Technician

We have an excellent opportunity available for a Roadside Technician (Mechanic) in the Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole area. This position rarely arises and could be the perfect career change for the right individual.

While predominantly focused around fixing vehicles, the role is no the same as working in a garage. You will be working in the local community and meeting customers. You will be allocated a company vehicle and can run from an agreed home address, allowing freedom without direct supervision. You will be joining a supportive working environment, with ongoing guidance and training offered where required.

Ideal candidates will have a good working knowledge of light and commercial vehicles including basic mechanical skills and a strong understanding of repairing cars. Diagnostic skills and an automotive qualification would be ideal but not essential; all that is needed is a passion for vehicles and a willingness to learn. Good communication skills and friendly outgoing manner are key to being successful with this position.

Essential to this role is great customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also need a minimum of a B+E driving licence and the freedom to operate a rolling shift pattern – 4 days on, 4 days off. Full training is provided along with a full uniform, safety footwear, company phone, company van, pension scheme and the ability to cross train.

Job offers are conditional to successfully passing a Police vetting check.

HGV Technician

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy workshop team. We are seeking someone who is experienced and qualified with City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 standard (minimum) or level 4 would be an advantage.

The main requirements for this role are:

  • Repair vehicles (mainly HGV but there would also be light vehicles to work on too) and make routine maintenance checks to ensure that the vehicle is running as it should be.
  • Perform diagnostic work on vehicles to resolve issues using the relevant diagnostic equipment.
  • Good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Perform restorative and preventative work on gears, brakes, engine, air conditioning, security features, fuel pump, etc.
  • Carry out routine servicing of cars, vans, lorries and commercial vehicles
  • Possess the ability to work well with customers, maintaining a patient and friendly attitude.
  • Class 2 Licence is desirable
