I broke down whilst on Holiday in Poole, Dorset, staying at Rockley Park. GRS recovery brought me my family and my car all the way back to Penarth in South Wales. The driver/technician Robbie was exceptional. If anyone is anywhere in Dorset and has the unfortunate problem of a breakdown don`t hesitate in calling GRS they are a well organised and well trained team of professionals.

I have just experienced GRS’s superb service. My car had broken down at Poole harbour ferry car park and the RAC had authorised recovery to my local garage in Hertfordshire. GRS phoned me soon after to confirm my location and the expected time they could send one of their trucks to meet me. A bit later the driver phoned me to let me know he was held up in the traffic waiting for the ferry and asked if I was able to drive the car at all, and if so could he meet up with me on the road outside the ferry area? I was able to do this and we met up. My car was soon loaded onto his truck and we set off, though the driver was concerned he’d go over his allocated hours on the vehicles tachograph by the time he could return to his base. This was overcome by us rendezvousing with another GRS driver at the M27 service area who took over the vehicle I was travelling in and completed the journey to Hertfordshire in good time. Both drivers were extremely competent, professional and good company to travel with. Many thanks GRS for all your help.

If Heineken did recovery ! Fabulously professional outfit and staff who took great care of the vehicle and me. A very clean truck and first class driver turned up and made an unenjoyable late night breakdown in the rain a much more bearable experience. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Adrian came to my rescue after I stupidly managed to drive my car into a ditch and got it completely stuck! He was friendly and professional and had me back on the road in no time (after creating an improvised ramp out of random items found nearby!). Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Definitely 5 star service. I broke down Sunday morning and GRS responded very promptly and after getting my taxi started it would not stay running because battery was completely useless. Within 15 minutes of making the call a recovery truck appeared and took me to nearest battery retailer and I was soon on my way. So a big thank you to all the GRS staff involved as I was able to continue with days work keeping my wheelchair customers happy.

As a local company providing Bouncy Castles all very Dorset we need a fast reliable and easy to deal with recovery company to come to the rescue when needed. GRS Recovey have been our go to company. Having been in an accident in the recent snow fall, we were quickly called by a gentleman called Andy who advised us of a collection time. Andy arrived exactly on time and could not have been more professional or helpful. He is a credit to himself and his company. Amazing service this morning. Our car broke down in Winchester BP services. After so many towing companies around Winchester area who couldn’t provide us service we contacted GRS services in Bournemouth. Sharon on the phone was lovely and did sorted out our situation very fast and within the few minutes she organised the towing truck for us. And then couple hours later Jason arrived. We were very happy to see him. He provided excellent service plus the drive to Bournemouth went very fast as we had good time and we talked about everything. Very glad we came across this company. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic service. Even with extremely heavy traffic a guy arrived in 10 minutes to check if he could get my Motorhome working but unfortunately the clutch had gone. We then had to wait for a larger recovery truck to come and get us. Shaun arrived and could not have been more polite, friendly and helpful. Excellent driver and enjoyed our 3 hour trip back home. It made a bad experience more palatable. From the guy on the end of the phone and both our Romanian mechanic to the lovely Shaun I can't recommend this company enough. Well done GRS Recovery, great work with a 5 star service. A very Happy customer.

I've used grs recovery for a good few years now and never been let down. They have helped transport everything from a ford ka to a Nissan skyline without a single problem and that was pretty low due to modified suspension. The reception is clean and inviting and they have a waiting area with comfy seating should you need to wait. Every recovery driver I've dealt with has been friendly and professional. I couldn't recommend them enough. Thanks guys.

Called my breakdown company (Gem) who subcontract the closest breakdown company and GRS recovery came out to me when I had a flat battery. They carried out a test and it showed my battery was fine and I had left the interior light on. So charged my battery and made sure It was ok. The mechanic made me feel comfortable and wasn't just a sales man pushing me to buy a new battery. Would highly recommend GRS Recovery to anyone that needs honest advise.

I was in McDonald's car park in Poole and my headlights drained my battery. I have breakdown cover but couldn't afford to wait so called GRS to help me out. Had fantastic service from the team when we broke down recently. Nik was with us in less than 30 mins and diagnosed the problem quickly. We live some distance away so Sharron sorted a courtesy car and Martin delivered the car to our local garage the following day. Great communication throughout, would highly recommend .

On a 4 day Rugby tournament with my son, just outside Poole, I found myself in a predicament with my car. Unfortunately my clutch had gone and I was informed that GRS were coming to tow me back to Buckingham. I was contacted to say when and how they would be coming. Very painless recovery after our mini had serious timing chain related failure, booked via our admiral breakdown cover. Very helpful lady from GRS checked on phone that we were ok and confirmed recovery truck was on its way. James who recovered us made sure we were safe whilst loading and then unloading at the garage, and took good care of the car. He was very polite and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we could try get our day back on track as soon as possible. Breaking down is never great but this made it as good an experience as it could have been!

Rob the man who came to my rescue was polite and extremely patient. Instead of making me feel stupid because I didn’t understand what was wrong, like some companies do, he took me around to the bonnet and showed me and explained to me in simple terms that I understood. He was very efficient and when he dropped me at the garage of my choice he made sure I was ok and wished me luck before he went on his way. GRS guy picked me up with in the time frame given to me. I was so impressed of the level of service by the recovery chap I made an enquiry regarding a clutch and gearbox job for the van in question the next day. He spoke to the garage on her behalf explaining the problem and gave her a lift home. He then rung me to inform me knowing I was concerned as I live 100 miles away. I needed some maintenance done on my car - I contacted a few places but GRS beat the others by a mile not only in price but speed of response and customer care! They worked everything around me and my needs. James was absolutely fantastic with helping me arrange my booking - patience of a saint and answered all my questions! When I came to collect my car, Oz came to greet me. He was so polite and explained everything to me and made sure I knew where I could collect my car from. Helped me massively, fixing the key cylinder on my car on the spot! I had a problem with the key slot for my car ignition being blocked. I spent ages trying to clear it myself and get the key in, however after half an hour of trying to fix it I gave up and called my breakdown cover assuming I’d be taken to a garage and have a replacement key barrel fitted.The GRS Recovery roadside assistant (Rob S) arrived within 30 minutes and managed to repair my cars key cylinder on the spot saving me from having to go to a garage and pay out a lot of money. I highly recommend this company.

Everyone's nightmare, turn the key, nothing!..Called out roadside assistance and James from GRS showed up in about 20 minutes. Diagnosed battery burn out, ruling out alternator and other issues. Carried replacement in his van which was fitted quickly. Real issues with my old Golf trying to reset the ABS steering as warning lights showing due to power off. James, the technician spent some considerable time trying to recalibrate with a smart bluetooth device. Unable to do so he suggested I meet him after his shift where he tried to do same with another device. Car was driveable so did just that and we overcame the issue. Top effort from James and GRS, couldn't have been more helpful.

Last night GRS was sent to cover for the AA. My daughter had broken down and we had managed to get the car safely into a car park. The AA first told me that GRS would arrive by 22.10, then later at 22.40. We went back home (within 5 minutes) to wait. Imagine my surprise when at 21.40 Adrian from GRS phoned to let me know that he had arrived at the car. Adrian was polite, professional, and really knowledgable. He diagnosed the problem, a failing alternator, in a few minutes, recharged the battery, and followed me the short drive home. It made the whole experience a pleasure.

Clutch cable went at traffic lights outside poole Park. Managed to get pushed into park. Grs called me at approx 17.55 to say recovery truck would bee 30-40 mins. Thought this was great as it was busy Bank Holiday Saturday evening. David then turned up at about 18.20 - even quicker! He was very calm, chatty and professional. We were quickly on way back home. When we arrived at house, after quick call to his office he agreed to tow car to garage instead. What a great company to deal with, all friendly, helpful and quick service. Totally recommed👌

I broke down today and James from GRS came to my rescue. I had to wait a while but it was totally worth it- he was kind, helpful, patient and went out of his way to help me. The breakdown turned out to be my fault (ran out of fuel!) and he was very kind about this fact- the first garage we went to had no diesel. He didn’t give up and call a recovery truck though, helped me out so I could get home by myself. Thank you so much for such amazing service- I know he finished later than he was supposed to to help me, and I am so very grateful. I will be getting my fuel gauge fixed ASAP! Thanks GRS!

I broke down today on the A31. Using roadside assistance via my car lease, Paul from GRS picked me up, took myself and my car to the dealership and then to my courtesy car so I could get home, which was 180 miles away. 5* to James who fixed my car yesterday. He sorted it quickly and got the car back on the road without the need for towing to a garage. The downside was a long wait due to a surge in breakdowns. However that wasn’t as inconvenient as it would have been if the car had to go to a garage! This is the second time I have used this company and their guys are courteous and professional. My car kept cutting out and going below revs, James was sent out to help and with a reset of the computer system managed to get my car working again. He ensured I got home safely and that the car worked fine on the drive home. The recovery van was with me within 40minutes, I used the app which was easy to use. Thought I'd locked my keys in the boot whilst changing my jackets. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this possibility until after I'd spent a few hours on the front at Bournemouth. James got the call to come to my aid and retrieve my keys, immediately he pointed out that he doubted the car would have locked with the keys in the boot. However, he used one of his gadgets to see if he could turn the ignition on this didn't work further leading James to think my keys were elsewhere. He very kindly gave me all of the options open to me but again reiterated he was pretty sure my keys were not in the car. Turned out that the good people of Bournemouth had found them and handed them in at The Rock Shop, which I had visited. Quite a relief as the spare is 4 hours away and other options would be expensive and risk damaging the car, the one thing James did not want to do. Also, as a measure of his kindness, he has just called me to see how I got on and sounded as pleased as me that I found my keys. Great service all round, James, thank you very very much, Bob

GRS came to sort my car after a breakdown - they'd been booked by the company that I pay as they were the local agent. Last Saturday evening coming home from a lovely evening in Swanage, I decided to put my roof down on my convertible to enjoy the sunset on the drive home and unfortunately it got stuck half way down so I couldn’t get it shut or open. Phoned the AA who sent Adrian from G.R.S out to assist. He was very friendly and efficient and fortunately got the roof closed which was a relief. Got stuck with an electrical (charging) issue and got saved by GRS recovery on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon. The recovery guy was amazing, arrived super quick. Fixed the car without issue. I broke down extremely late on a very dark dual carriage. Adrian from GRS came out to me. He was so friendly and helpful. He brought me some fuel ⛽ which unfortunately didn't solve my problem so he towed me to the nearest garage where he also stayed with me and then had to charge my battery. All this time he was in the freezing cold and still cheerful. He managed to sort my car issues out and helped me on my way. Adrian is definitely a star 🌟. He really is a bonus to the company. Awful rude and very bad at having common sense and communication that is effective to make to get an issue. Resolved would not recommend at all! I had a puncture Thursday night (12/01/23). The call to GRS recovery was at 2045, with an estimated time of 2315. ADRIAN turned up in a van at about 2230. He suggested against using the Tyre Mobility Kit (TMK) that comes with modern cars (Kia), and instead used a plug puncture repair. I was on the road by 2300. The speed of recovery was good. ADRIAN's communication and conversation was excellent. The repair was quick and is far superior to using the TMK.

After returning from holiday to my car and finding the battery flat the breakdown service RAC were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Having passed the job on to GRS they were amazing, professional, friendly, kept me informed and dealt with the ever useless RAC astonishingly well. They went above and beyond to help retrieve my car even going as far as collecting my keys, picking up the car, getting it going and even parking in my allocated parking spot. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of your technician. But he was brilliant in an embarrassing situation after my son put a plastic toy key on the ignition of my van and snapped it off!! Absolutely diabolical service and staff, motorcycle was taken their under section 59. GRS then decided to lean crashed recovered motorcycles on the newly rebuilt bike damaging the bike and then fail to produce insurance details for the damage. AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY AT ALL COSTS OR IT WILL COST YOURSELF MORE OVER HASSLE AND MONEY. WORST TOW COMPANY IN THE AREA!!! Photos of the bike in there yard and supposed “care” between when they constantly tried blocking the camera from gathering the evidence of criminal damage by themselves! Also not a police yard you’re a private company merely contracted with the police also the gate was wide open so could see my damaged bike from the front car park!!

I managed to break down today in the car park at M&S food hall . The RAC tried to start my car but were unable to do so. They arranged for GRS to transport the car to my garage. GRS arrived in a breakdown lorry driven by Paul. Without any fuss he managed to get my Range Rover Sport out of the busy car park, onto his lorry, and delivered the car and passengers in a short space of time. I thoroughly recommend GRS who were tasked by Audi Assist and the AA to recover my car and I hope they note how pleased I am. Good customer service is commonplace these days. Outstanding customer service rather rarer. Today I experienced the latter from GRS with Jason and Joe on site. My car was stuck in the garage at home. Inoperable electric brake stuck on, no steering and automatic in park. Sounds an easy job? Not so, garage/driveway space is restricted and manoeuvring tight. The thing to note is that every action from removing the car from the garage to putting it on the low loader was considered. Nothing was rushed but every action was completed right and first time. Jason and Joe knew what to do and had the right specialist equipment on site. This was a job done promptly, safely and effectively. Well done and thank you GRS. I'm impressed with your people on site and those in the office who kept me informed.

I had GRS come out to my car this week due to my car keys being stolen. I have to say the the chap who was working that night on the phones went above and beyond for me. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he got me out of a hole and saved me alot of money. Even the driver of the recovery truck done his best to make sure my car had got on to his lorry as my electric handbrake was locked on so managed to put the wheels on skates. Thank you so much to Adrian who went well above and beyond standard customer service. I had a non starter battery that required a boot and maybe because it was Saturday night took quite some time to get sorted. That has nothing to do with this review. Adrian, a gentleman with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor, -and a patient non-condecending way of discussing these issues I was having, made the roadside assist, a pleasant interaction rather than the "Stand back, don't talk to me, I know what I'm doing attitude we have all experienced before. He had me started instantly and then in a extremely kind gesture followed me the 1.5 miles or so back to my home -just in case the stop start kicked in, whereupon only half of that stop/start thing would apply, the wrong half.. That was something he did not have to do but was so appreciated. Top service.. Thank you Adrian and GRS recovery for employing such helpful staff as well! 6 stars.

Called out twice in two weeks through the AA in different vehicles.one fixed at roadside and tailed back 20ish miles to make sure I got home.The other on the back of a flat bed truck from Bournemouth.Both driver operators were very knowledgeable,polite and helpful.They are both assets to this company.It’s nice to get great service in challenging times.The kept you informed all the way through,Many thanks for helping

Can I just say that I have arrived home safely. After being helped by Lee, who recovered my car from Stonehenge. Thank you so much Lee, for brilliant service!!!!! . Had to book GRS today to tow my car. Sarah came to pick the car up and the service was first class. She was patient throughout, easy to get on with. She even went the extra mile by waiting with me until I had my car signed into VW etc before offloading it rather than trying to offload and move on to the next call. Great job & service

10 days ago at 9.30 at night, we turned off our ignition while waiting in a queue at a level crossing in Lymington. When we went to re-start it, our car key fob wouldn't work. We have a 'keyless' car so were completely stuck. We were in a very dangerous position... broken down in the middle of the road....and very worried indeed. Fortunately the AA contacted Adrian from GRS who immediately called us to say he was on his way, but was coming from Bournemouth. He rang us several times during his journey to update us on his progress and reassure us. He was a STAR! It turned out that our key fob battery had just 'died' without any warning. (Apparently they do this!) Fortunately he had a spare battery for his own key fob, which he gave us. From the minute he first called, we knew we were going to be well looked after. At half past midnight, we were on our way again. Adrian was really great and we cannot recommend GRS highly enough. Thankyou!

Had a breakdown today, and GRS handled the recovery. Absolutely first class service. Beat the ETA by nearly an hour, and had the car loaded up, strapped down and on our way home 20 mins after arriving. Driver was brilliant. Professional, helpful and friendly.

Got to me within 20 minutes even though the insurance company said 90 so very speedy. James, who was the mechanic took the time and effort to find the fault and repair it when it was thought to just be a jumpstart, rather than just recovering the vehicle. Also told me exactly what the problem was and what to do going forward and I was back on the road in no time. Thanks to James for your help!!

My wife and I broke down with transmission issues in our bran new motorhome on the busy A31 near Southampton, no one was able to help us until our great saviour Elliot from GRS came along. Absolutely excellent service from GRS. Had to be recovered on Saturday from outside Dorchester. Initial call was via Volvo Assistance but when GRS picked up the job it was beyond what I expected. Kept me informed of what was going to happen and how long I'd have to wait. Phil in the office was great, and although I didn't catch the recovery driver's name, he was brilliant. Thanks team.

I’ve just had a gentleman come and look at my Mercedes, which I called my warranty company who sent grs out, well they came out within 40 mins, and what a lovely gentleman who ran a diagnostics test on my car and cleared the fault, and now is work fine, he went through the issues. Lee was fantastic, very friendly and we had a great chat about lorries and truck driving in the way back! He came out to recover us as quickly as possible, he dropped off on our street and helped us to get parked safely. He found us despite the incorrect directions given by green flag and kept me informed during his journey out to us. I wish I had phoned them direct as I would have made a big saving rather than asking green flag to arrange, I will certainly be using GRS again if the need arises. Many thanks! Andy

After my tyre bursting and thinking I just needed a quick tyre change, I discovered that the car had more damage so needed to be taken to a garage after a Google search I got some quotes. GRS recovered my campervan when it's brakes failed on the slipway of the Sandbanks to Studland ferry on my way to a girls weekend in the Purbecks Phil was so reassuring following my phone call- he arranged for the vehicle to be delivered back to my home in Highcliffe whilst my friend and I were picked up by another friend so that we could continue our weekend break. Shout out to the ferry man Stuart who looked after my keys ( as suggested by Phil) so that I didn't have to hang around for the Recovery truck. I then received a call from Phils colleague, once the van was safely home and the keys put through the letter box. All together a brilliant service at an extremely competitive price. Would highly recommend!

My breakdown cover arranged for GRS to recover my vehicle stuck in reverse gear due to clutch hydraulic failure that was in a busy Aldi car park in the evening. He excellently manoeuvered my vehicle somehow onto his recovery truck and was able to drop it off at my local garage up a lane and park whilst still stuck in Reverse gear all the time. He went out of his way to help me excellent service which I would had struggled with. Many thanks 👍

I lost all power to my vehicle at 9pm on Wednesday evening. The breakdown could not have been in a worse place, on the main road through Corfe Castle in Dorset: , narrow, on an uphill bend, unlit in the shadow of the Castle. Within 10 mins of the AA putting me in touch with GRS a mechanic arrived, moved the car to a safer location, determined I needed to be recovered and ordered the pick up. The truck, driven by Dominic, arrived in less than an hour, gave me notice of his arrival, picked me up and delivered my very kaput vehicle to my normal repair garage in Swanage and then me to my home in the town. Dominic was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and charming. I felt cared for and. safe. He is a credit to the Company, please thank him for me

Dominic came and rescued us after we had a shredded tyre on the A31. Our contract meant that we had to be taken to our local dealership - who couldn’t help! - so without any fuss he reloaded it onto the low-loader and took us to someone who could help, saving not just the day, but a good couple of days, as we were 200 miles away from home! I've been recovered twice by Dan from GRS and can't speak highly enough of the service - he really knows his stuff and diagnosed the problem within minutes and got me going again. He is also very personable and pleasant in his manner, which helps when stranded in the middle of nowhere! Only issue was a two hour wait on the first call-out, but it was a busy time. Less than an hour on the second.

I can’t thank James from GRS Recovery enough for his incredible help when I broke down on the busy Hurn Road on Friday, 4th July evening. It was a really stressful situation, but James arrived quickly and handled everything with such professionalism and care. He managed to get my car safely off the road and moved me to a safer location, which was such a relief. Not only did he fix my car right there and then, but he also went the extra mile by calling me later before his shift ended, just to make sure I was okay. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare these days. James was super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in what he does. A genuinely lovely guy – I couldn’t have asked for better help. A deserved mention and heartfelt thank you to GRS Recovery. The team did a truly spectacular job recovering my car especially Tris, who took on the task of rescuing my tiny car, Delilah. Even when my car was being recovered i was updated and sent photos of my car and even a tiny memorabilia video of my car before she went away 🥲the service, support, and kindness from the entire team were outstanding and genuinely felt. as a young driver, i was in a bad state and shock after my crash accident on the B3070 road towards lulworth cove at 11.30 i rung AA and the came in about 1HR after it happened, they couldn’t recover my car then and there due to insufficient supplies, so coming down the road was a GRS van and we managed to flag him down and they said they could recover my car. i went through insurance and my company placed the job on GRS anyway. but Tris, along with a lovely woman (whose name i unfortunately, didn’t catch) helped calm me down and reassured me that everything would be okay and they went above and beyond by helping me navigate the insurance and documentation process when I didn’t know where to start. I feel extremely lucky to be here and I’m beyond thankful for everything the GRS team did for me. Thank you so much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼sad goodbye to delilah but she was handled with care by tris and his team!

GRS came to my aid today when my car broke down in a Sainsbury's car park. I received a call to tell me they were on the way and asked my location within the car park. I felt instantly at ease with just the phonecall. Gentleman arrived a few moments later with a gentle and sympathetic smile. He checked over the car for me as best he could just to be sure it wasn't a quick fix issue, alas the car was not going to start. He talked me through the next steps for getting the car onto the truck and getting home. Helped me and my young daughter into the back of his truck before doing the necessaries with the car. Tackling all manner of grumpy people in the process. Poor fellow. But he never let that effect his interactions with myself and my daughter. My little one had the best experience! And so did I. We were home safe and sound in no time and I cannot thank him enough. Our hero! Would recommended GRS to anyone in a bit of a pinch like the one I found myself in today.

My van broke down in highcliffe and after 2 visits from GRS it was decided to recover it back home. So a chap called Jamie called to say he has the van and on his way. I needed the van on the drive as im a mobile dog groomer so needed to carry on working from home in the van. I explained this to Jamie and with winching shunting for about 20 mins he managed to get it excatly where I needed it. I can honestly say that Jamie is an outstanding operative who knows excatly what to do with his lorry. Absolutely over the moon with the service. Breaking down is obviously, stressful, time consuming and disheartening. Especially after a week away camping! That said, our recovery with GRS was probably the best experience you can have with something like this. They were quick to our location, professional and courteous. The vehicle was well maintained and they got us home, a whole 2 and a half hours away, in bank holiday traffic, in great time, without any changes. On a personal note, I really want to thank Tris, the driver, as he was so lovely to the kids and went out of his way to engage with them about their holiday and to keep them entertained. It really was a next level of customer service. We really want to thank him for everything he did. We can't recommend them enough.

Our car broke down in Poole the AA subbed the job out to this company after having numerous bad experiences with recovery companies it is refreshing to find a good one. The truck turned up within two hours which was earlier than we were originally told and got us home. Their truck is a state of the art truck with a very nice cab and charging facilities in the back. Super friendly team who got us out of a rough spot when the van broke down on the last run during a house move. They came out late on Friday night to try fix it, couldn’t sort at the side of the road (no fault of theirs at all), and organised quick recovery of the van shortly after. Managed to squeeze the flatbed into the tightest spot I’ve ever seen, and worked quickly to get us moving again. Afraid I didn’t get either of the guys names who helped us, but what a credit to the company. 100% recommend, and although I hopefully won’t need their services again, I’d be thrilled if it was GRS who come to help next time.

My van wouldn’t start and I really felt it was a problem as I was unable to work. That was until James arrived ( at the end of his shift) to help me out. He arrived in a really friendly helpful way. Brilliant service from Dom. 4 weeks ago I broke down on a busy main road, school closing time. Called National Breakdown who organised GRS Recovery. I was kept up to date with eta and was also called to check they had arrived. Dom, from GRS arrived within 2 hours, sat me in the cab while he put my car on his pickup, only took 10 minutes! It was a really cold afternoon/evening so I was really grateful to have been recovered so quickly. As a woman on her own, I felt very safe, Dom was kind, considerate and understanding. My car was immobile due to steering lock failure. GRS operative Lee arrived within half an hour loaded the car and drove it to my garage. We became aware of GRS Recovery when we called the AA for assistance after sustaining a puncture. GRS were sent to assist us on behalf of the AA. GRS kept us informed of their commitment to assist us and arrived within 1 hour of our call. Lee assessed our problem, we had a puncture, but have a car with no spare, and our attempts to use the 'quick repair kit' failed. Instead of taking the easy option of getting us to a garage to resolve our problem, he repaired the puncture himself with a magic repair kit. We were very impressed with the service we received, thank you, especially Lee, he is a superstar!

This evening Adrian and Billy rescued me after a blown out tyre on my camper van on a busy road. They were absolutely brilliant - friendly, efficient, calming, skilful and informative. They were super quick on the scene and made me feel safe and looked after, even giving me advice of what I needed to do next to get the spare wheel seen to. I had a breakdown and thought it could be the battery, so called my breakdown cover company who sent GRS. Lee arrived within half hour or so of my call, tested the battery and checked diagnostics, found no issue but the car wouldn’t start over. Completed a recovery towing my car on the flatbed truck all the way home and parking it where I normally park at home. Great service throughout the whole time. Thank you!

Broke down on very dark road on A31 near ringwood, cars flying past GRS got to us very quickly, checking to see my disabled elderly husband was ok while they werenon their way, very reassuring, took us 25 miles home & Thomas was fantastic helped get my husband into his wheelchair & got broken car safely parked, the service was fantastic from start to finish, they are an efficient effective company with a caring company ethic. While it did take some time to get to me (out of my own doing as initially had cancelled) the team sent one of their best (Lee). The recovery went smooth from southampton to Byfleet before handing me over to someone else. At this point I was so tired beyond belief. The Grs team had been very communicative and transparent about timings. Just wish they could take me all the way to stansted as their vehicle was so comfortable 🤓🤓

My car was immobile due to steering lock failure. GRS operative Lee arrived within half an hour loaded the car and drove it to my garage. We became aware of GRS Recovery when we called the AA for assistance after sustaining a puncture. GRS were sent to assist us on behalf of the AA. GRS kept us informed of their commitment to assist us and arrived within 1 hour of our call. Lee assessed our problem, we had a puncture, but have a car with no spare, and our attempts to use the 'quick repair kit' failed. Instead of taking the easy option of getting us to a garage to resolve our problem, he repaired the puncture himself with a magic repair kit. We were very impressed with the service we received, thank you, especially Lee, he is a superstar!read more

Brilliant service from Dom. 4 weeks ago I broke down on a busy main road, school closing time. Called National Breakdown who organised GRS Recovery. I was kept up to date with eta and was also called to check they had arrived. Dom, from GRS arrived within 2 hours, sat me in the cab while he put my car on his pickup, only took 10 minutes! It was a really cold afternoon/evening so I was really grateful to have been recovered so quickly. As a woman on her own, I felt very safe, Dom was kind, considerate and understanding. My van wouldn’t start and I really felt it was a problem as I was unable to work. That was until James arrived ( at the end of his shift) to help me out. He arrived in a really friendly helpful way. He immediately put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands then. Suffice to say he fixed the van with real professionalism and then made some other checks to ensure all was ok. On holiday in Swanage with my wife when two brackets holding the exhaust on my oldish merc broke away. Jack from GRS Recovery turned up at 9.30am as promised and spent thirty minutes under the car securing the exhaust with ties. We were able yo drive home without any further problems. Super friendly team who got us out of a rough spot when the van broke down on the last run during a house move. They came out late on Friday night to try fix it, couldn’t sort at the side of the road (no fault of theirs at all), and organised quick recovery of the van shortly after. Managed to squeeze the flatbed into the tightest spot I’ve ever seen, and worked quickly to get us moving again. Afraid I didn’t get either of the guys names who helped us, but what a credit to the company. 100% recommend, and although I hopefully won’t need their services again, I’d be thrilled if it was GRS who come to help next time.read more

Our car broke down in Poole the AA subbed the job out to this company after having numerous bad experiences with recovery companies it is refreshing to find a good one. The truck turned up within two hours which was earlier than we were originally told and got us home. Their truck is a state of the art truck with a very nice cab and charging facilities in the back. Breaking down is obviously, stressful, time consuming and disheartening. Especially after a week away camping! That said, our recovery with GRS was probably the best experience you can have with something like this. They were quick to our location, professional and courteous. The vehicle was well maintained and they got us home, a whole 2 and a half hours away, in bank holiday traffic, in great time, without any changes. On a personal note, I really want to thank Tris, the driver, as he was so lovely to the kids and went out of his way to engage with them about their holiday and to keep them entertained. It really was a next level of customer service. We really want to thank him for everything he did. We can't recommend them enough.read more

My van broke down in highcliffe and after 2 visits from GRS it was decided to recover it back home. So a chap called Jamie called to say he has the van and on his way. I needed the van on the drive as im a mobile dog groomer so needed to carry on working from home in the van. I explained this to Jamie and with winching shunting for about 20 mins he managed to get it excatly where I needed it. I can honestly say that Jamie is an outstanding operative who knows excatly what to do with his lorry. Absolutely over the moon with the service. GRS came to my aid today when my car broke down in a Sainsbury's car park. I received a call to tell me they were on the way and asked my location within the car park. I felt instantly at ease with just the phonecall. Gentleman arrived a few moments later with a gentle and sympathetic smile. He checked over the car for me as best he could just to be sure it wasn't a quick fix issue, alas the car was not going to start. He talked me through the next steps for getting the car onto the truck and getting home. Helped me and my young daughter into the back of his truck before doing the necessaries with the car. Tackling all manner of grumpy people in the process. Poor fellow. But he never let that effect his interactions with myself and my daughter. My little one had the best experience! And so did I. We were home safe and sound in no time and I cannot thank him enough. Our hero! Would recommended GRS to anyone in a bit of a pinch like the one I found myself in today.read more

A deserved mention and heartfelt thank you to GRS Recovery. The team did a truly spectacular job recovering my car especially Tris, who took on the task of rescuing my tiny car, Delilah. Even when my car was being recovered i was updated and sent photos of my car and even a tiny memorabilia video of my car before she went away 🥲the service, support, and kindness from the entire team were outstanding and genuinely felt. as a young driver, i was in a bad state and shock after my crash accident on the B3070 road towards lulworth cove at 11.30 i rung AA and the came in about 1HR after it happened, they couldn’t recover my car then and there due to insufficient supplies, so coming down the road was a GRS van and we managed to flag him down and they said they could recover my car. i went through insurance and my company placed the job on GRS anyway. but Tris, along with a lovely woman (whose name i unfortunately, didn’t catch) helped calm me down and reassured me that everything would be okay and they went above and beyond by helping me navigate the insurance and documentation process when I didn’t know where to start. I feel extremely lucky to be here and I’m beyond thankful for everything the GRS team did for me. I can’t thank James from GRS Recovery enough for his incredible help when I broke down on the busy Hurn Road on Friday, 4th July evening. It was a really stressful situation, but James arrived quickly and handled everything with such professionalism and care. He managed to get my car safely off the road and moved me to a safer location, which was such a relief. Not only did he fix my car right there and then, but he also went the extra mile by calling me later before his shift ended, just to make sure I was okay. I've been recovered twice by Dan from GRS and can't speak highly enough of the service - he really knows his stuff and diagnosed the problem within minutes and got me going again. He is also very personable and pleasant in his manner, which helps when stranded in the middle of nowhere! Only issue was a two hour wait on the first call-out, but it was a busy time. Dominic came and rescued us after we had a shredded tyre on the A31. Our contract meant that we had to be taken to our local dealership - who couldn’t help! - so without any fuss he reloaded it onto the low-loader and took us to someone who could help, saving not just the day, but a good couple of days, as we were 200 miles away from home! I lost all power to my vehicle at 9pm on Wednesday evening. The breakdown could not have been in a worse place, on the main road through Corfe Castle in Dorset: , narrow, on an uphill bend, unlit in the shadow of the Castle. Within 10 mins of the AA putting me in touch with GRS a mechanic arrived, moved the car to a safer location, determined I needed to be recovered and ordered the pick up. The truck, driven by Dominic, arrived in less than an hour, gave me notice of his arrival, picked me up and delivered my very kaput vehicle to my normal repair garage in Swanage and then me to my home in the town. My breakdown cover arranged for GRS to recover my vehicle stuck in reverse gear due to clutch hydraulic failure that was in a busy Aldi car park in the evening. He excellently manoeuvered my vehicle somehow onto his recovery truck and was able to drop it off at my local garage up a lane and park whilst still stuck in Reverse gear all the time. GRS recovered my campervan when it's brakes failed on the slipway of the Sandbanks to Studland ferry on my way to a girls weekend in the Purbecks Phil was so reassuring following my phone call- he arranged for the vehicle to be delivered back to my home in Highcliffe whilst my friend and I were picked up by another friend so that we could continue our weekend break. Shout out to the ferry man Stuart who looked after my keys ( as suggested by Phil) so that I didn't have to hang around for the Recovery truck. I then received a call from Phils colleague, once the van was safely home and the keys put through the letter box. All together a brilliant service at an extremely competitive price. After my tyre bursting and thinking I just needed a quick tyre change, I discovered that the car had more damage so needed to be taken to a garage after a Google search I got some quotes. Lee was fantastic, very friendly and we had a great chat about lorries and truck driving in the way back! He came out to recover us as quickly as possible, he dropped off on our street and helped us to get parked safely. I’ve just had a gentleman come and look at my Mercedes, which I called my warranty company who sent grs out, well they came out within 40 mins, and what a lovely gentleman who ran a diagnostics test on my car and cleared the fault, and now is work fine, he went through the issues. 10 days ago at 9.30 at night, we turned off our ignition while waiting in a queue at a level crossing in Lymington. When we went to re-start it, our car key fob wouldn't work. We have a 'keyless' car so were completely stuck. We were in a very dangerous position... broken down in the middle of the road....and very worried indeed. Fortunately the AA contacted Adrian from GRS who immediately called us to say he was on his way, but was coming from Bournemouth. He rang us several times during his journey to update us on his progress and reassure us. He was a STAR! It turned out that our key fob battery had just 'died' without any warning. (Apparently they do this!) Fortunately he had a spare battery for his own key fob, which he gave us. From the minute he first called, we knew we were going to be well looked after. At half past midnight, we were on our way again. Adrian was really great and we cannot recommend GRS highly enough. Thankyou!read more

I had a non starter battery that required a boot and maybe because it was Saturday night took quite some time to get sorted. That has nothing to do with this review. Adrian, a gentleman with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor, -and a patient non-condecending way of discussing these issues I was having, made the roadside assist, a pleasant interaction rather than the "Stand back, don't talk to me, I know what I'm doing attitude we have all experienced before. He had me started instantly and then in a extremely kind gesture followed me the 1.5 miles or so back to my home -just in case the stop start kicked in, whereupon only half of that stop/start thing would apply, the wrong half.. I had GRS come out to my car this week due to my car keys being stolen. I have to say the the chap who was working that night on the phones went above and beyond for me. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he got me out of a hole and saved me alot of money. Even the driver of the recovery truck done his best to make sure my car had got on to his lorry as my electric handbrake was locked on so managed to put the wheels on skates. I thoroughly recommend GRS who were tasked by Audi Assist and the AA to recover my car and I hope they note how pleased I am. Good customer service is commonplace these days. Outstanding customer service rather rarer. Today I experienced the latter from GRS with Jason and Joe on site. My car was stuck in the garage at home. Inoperable electric brake stuck on, no steering and automatic in park. Sounds an easy job? Not so, garage/driveway space is restricted and manoeuvring tight. The thing to note is that every action from removing the car from the garage to putting it on the low loader was considered. Nothing was rushed but every action was completed right and first time. Jason and Joe knew what to do and had the right specialist equipment on site. This was a job done promptly, safely and effectively. Well done and thank you GRS. I'm impressed with your people on site and those in the office who kept me informed.read more

I managed to break down today in the car park at M&S food hall . The RAC tried to start my car but were unable to do so. They arranged for GRS to transport the car to my garage. I had a puncture Thursday night (12/01/23). The call to GRS recovery was at 2045, with an estimated time of 2315. ADRIAN turned up in a van at about 2230. He suggested against using the Tyre Mobility Kit (TMK) that comes with modern cars (Kia), and instead used a plug puncture repair. I was on the road by 2300. The speed of recovery was good. ADRIAN's communication and conversation was excellent. The repair was quick and is far superior to using the TMK.read more

Last Saturday evening coming home from a lovely evening in Swanage, I decided to put my roof down on my convertible to enjoy the sunset on the drive home and unfortunately it got stuck half way down so I couldn’t get it shut or open. Thought I'd locked my keys in the boot whilst changing my jackets. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this possibility until after I'd spent a few hours on the front at Bournemouth. James got the call to come to my aid and retrieve my keys, immediately he pointed out that he doubted the car would have locked with the keys in the boot. However, he used one of his gadgets to see if he could turn the ignition on this didn't work further leading James to think my keys were elsewhere. He very kindly gave me all of the options open to me but again reiterated he was pretty sure my keys were not in the car. Turned out that the good people of Bournemouth had found them and handed them in at The Rock Shop, which I had visited. Quite a relief as the spare is 4 hours away and other options would be expensive and risk damaging the car, the one thing James did not want to do. My car kept cutting out and going below revs, James was sent out to help and with a reset of the computer system managed to get my car working again. Clutch cable went at traffic lights outside poole Park. Managed to get pushed into park. Grs called me at approx 17.55 to say recovery truck would bee 30-40 mins. Last night GRS was sent to cover for the AA. My daughter had broken down and we had managed to get the car safely into a car park. The AA first told me that GRS would arrive by 22.10, then later at 22.40. We went back home (within 5 minutes) to wait. Imagine my surprise when at 21.40 Adrian from GRS phoned to let me know that he had arrived at the car. Adrian was polite, professional, and really knowledgable. Everyone's nightmare, turn the key, nothing!..Called out roadside assistance and James from GRS showed up in about 20 minutes. Diagnosed battery burn out, ruling out alternator and other issues. Carried replacement in his van which was fitted quickly. Real issues with my old Golf trying to reset the ABS steering as warning lights showing due to power off. James, the technician spent some considerable time trying to recalibrate with a smart bluetooth device. Unable to do so he suggested I meet him after his shift where he tried to do same with another device. Car was driveable so did just that and we overcame the issue. Top effort from James and GRS, couldn't have been more helpful.read more

Helped me massively, fixing the key cylinder on my car on the spot! I had a problem with the key slot for my car ignition being blocked. I spent ages trying to clear it myself and get the key in, however after half an hour of trying to fix it I gave up and called my breakdown cover assuming I’d be taken to a garage and have a replacement key barrel fitted.The GRS Recovery roadside assistant (Rob S) arrived within 30 minutes and managed to repair my cars key cylinder on the spot saving me from having to go to a garage and pay out a lot of money. Very painless recovery after our mini had serious timing chain related failure, booked via our admiral breakdown cover. Very helpful lady from GRS checked on phone that we were ok and confirmed recovery truck was on its way. Called my breakdown company (Gem) who subcontract the closest breakdown company and GRS recovery came out to me when I had a flat battery. They carried out a test and it showed my battery was fine and I had left the interior light on. So charged my battery and made sure It was ok. The mechanic made me feel comfortable and wasn't just a sales man pushing me to buy a new battery. Would highly recommend GRS Recovery to anyone that needs honest advise.read more

I've used grs recovery for a good few years now and never been let down. They have helped transport everything from a ford ka to a Nissan skyline without a single problem and that was pretty low due to modified suspension. Fantastic service. Even with extremely heavy traffic a guy arrived in 10 minutes to check if he could get my Motorhome working but unfortunately the clutch had gone. Definitely 5 star service. I broke down Sunday morning and GRS responded very promptly and after getting my taxi started it would not stay running because battery was completely useless. Within 15 minutes of making the call a recovery truck appeared and took me to nearest battery retailer and I was soon on my way. I have just experienced GRS’s superb service. My car had broken down at Poole harbour ferry car park and the RAC had authorised recovery to my local garage in Hertfordshire. GRS phoned me soon after to confirm my location and the expected time they could send one of their trucks to meet me. A bit later the driver phoned me to let me know he was held up in the traffic waiting for the ferry and asked if I was able to drive the car at all, and if so could he meet up with me on the road outside the ferry area? I was able to do this and we met up. My car was soon loaded onto his truck and we set off, though the driver was concerned he’d go over his allocated hours on the vehicles tachograph by the time he could return to his base. This was overcome by us rendezvousing with another GRS driver at the M27 service area who took over the vehicle I was travelling in and completed the journey to Hertfordshire in good time. Both drivers were extremely competent, professional and good company to travel with. Many thanks GRS for all your help.read more

Amazing service this morning. Our car broke down in Winchester BP services. After so many towing companies around Winchester area who couldn’t provide us service we contacted GRS services in Bournemouth. Sharon on the phone was lovely and did sorted out our situation very fast and within the few minutes she organised the towing truck for us. And then couple hours later Jason arrived. We were very happy to see him. He provided excellent service plus the drive to Bournemouth went very fast as we had good time and we talked about everything. Very glad we came across this company. Fantastic service. Even with extremely heavy traffic a guy arrived in 10 minutes to check if he could get my Motorhome working but unfortunately the clutch had gone. We then had to wait for a larger recovery truck to come and get us. Shaun arrived and could not have been more polite, friendly and helpful. Excellent driver and enjoyed our 3 hour trip back home. It made a bad experience more palatable. From the guy on the end of the phone and both our Romanian mechanic to the lovely Shaun I can't recommend this company enough. Well done GRS Recovery, great work with a 5 star service. A very Happy customer.

I've used grs recovery for a good few years now and never been let down. They have helped transport everything from a ford ka to a Nissan skyline without a single problem and that was pretty low due to modified suspension. The reception is clean and inviting and they have a waiting area with comfy seating should you need to wait. Every recovery driver I've dealt with has been friendly and professional. Called my breakdown company (Gem) who subcontract the closest breakdown company and GRS recovery came out to me when I had a flat battery. They carried out a test and it showed my battery was fine and I had left the interior light on. So charged my battery and made sure It was ok. The mechanic made me feel comfortable and wasn't just a sales man pushing me to buy a new battery. Would highly recommend GRS Recovery to anyone that needs honest advise.

Very painless recovery after our mini had serious timing chain related failure, booked via our admiral breakdown cover. Very helpful lady from GRS checked on phone that we were ok and confirmed recovery truck was on its way. James who recovered us made sure we were safe whilst loading and then unloading at the garage, and took good care of the car. He was very polite and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we could try get our day back on track as soon as possible. Breaking down is never great but this made it as good an experience as it could have been!

Rob the man who came to my rescue was polite and extremely patient. Instead of making me feel stupid because I didn’t understand what was wrong, like some companies do, he took me around to the bonnet and showed me and explained to me in simple terms that I understood. He was very efficient and when he dropped me at the garage of my choice he made sure I was ok and wished me luck before he went on his way. GRS guy picked me up with in the time frame given to me. I was so impressed of the level of service by the recovery chap I made an enquiry regarding a clutch and gearbox job for the van in question the next day. I needed some maintenance done on my car - I contacted a few places but GRS beat the others by a mile not only in price but speed of response and customer care! Helped me massively, fixing the key cylinder on my car on the spot! I had a problem with the key slot for my car ignition being blocked. I spent ages trying to clear it myself and get the key in, however after half an hour of trying to fix it I gave up and called my breakdown cover assuming I’d be taken to a garage and have a replacement key barrel fitted.The GRS Recovery roadside assistant (Rob S) arrived within 30 minutes and managed to repair my cars key cylinder on the spot saving me from having to go to a garage and pay out a lot of money. I highly recommend this company.

Everyone's nightmare, turn the key, nothing!..Called out roadside assistance and James from GRS showed up in about 20 minutes. Diagnosed battery burn out, ruling out alternator and other issues. Carried replacement in his van which was fitted quickly. Real issues with my old Golf trying to reset the ABS steering as warning lights showing due to power off. James, the technician spent some considerable time trying to recalibrate with a smart bluetooth device. Unable to do so he suggested I meet him after his shift where he tried to do same with another device. Car was driveable so did just that and we overcame the issue. Top effort from James and GRS, couldn't have been more helpful.

Last night GRS was sent to cover for the AA. My daughter had broken down and we had managed to get the car safely into a car park. The AA first told me that GRS would arrive by 22.10, then later at 22.40. We went back home (within 5 minutes) to wait. Imagine my surprise when at 21.40 Adrian from GRS phoned to let me know that he had arrived at the car. Adrian was polite, professional, and really knowledgable. He diagnosed the problem, a failing alternator, in a few minutes, recharged the battery, and followed me the short drive home. It made the whole experience a pleasure.

Clutch cable went at traffic lights outside poole Park. Managed to get pushed into park. Grs called me at approx 17.55 to say recovery truck would bee 30-40 mins. Thought this was great as it was busy Bank Holiday Saturday evening. David then turned up at about 18.20 - even quicker! He was very calm, chatty and professional. We were quickly on way back home. When we arrived at house, after quick call to his office he agreed to tow car to garage instead. What a great company to deal with, all friendly, helpful and quick service. Totally recommed👌

I broke down today and James from GRS came to my rescue. I had to wait a while but it was totally worth it- he was kind, helpful, patient and went out of his way to help me. The breakdown turned out to be my fault (ran out of fuel!) and he was very kind about this fact- the first garage we went to had no diesel. He didn’t give up and call a recovery truck though, helped me out so I could get home by myself. I broke down today on the A31. Using roadside assistance via my car lease, Paul from GRS picked me up, took myself and my car to the dealership and then to my courtesy car so I could get home, which was 180 miles away. My car kept cutting out and going below revs, James was sent out to help and with a reset of the computer system managed to get my car working again. He ensured I got home safely and that the car worked fine on the drive home. The recovery van was with me within 40minutes, I used the app which was easy to use. Thought I'd locked my keys in the boot whilst changing my jackets. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this possibility until after I'd spent a few hours on the front at Bournemouth. James got the call to come to my aid and retrieve my keys, immediately he pointed out that he doubted the car would have locked with the keys in the boot. However, he used one of his gadgets to see if he could turn the ignition on this didn't work further leading James to think my keys were elsewhere. He very kindly gave me all of the options open to me but again reiterated he was pretty sure my keys were not in the car. Turned out that the good people of Bournemouth had found them and handed them in at The Rock Shop, which I had visited. Quite a relief as the spare is 4 hours away and other options would be expensive and risk damaging the car, the one thing James did not want to do. Also, as a measure of his kindness, he has just called me to see how I got on and sounded as pleased as me that I found my keys. Great service all round, James, thank you very very much, Bob

Arrived in good time, polite and friendly and mechanic knew his stuff and my car was back up and running within ten minutes. Gave me some follow up tips on how to avoid the same issue in future. Last Saturday evening coming home from a lovely evening in Swanage, I decided to put my roof down on my convertible to enjoy the sunset on the drive home and unfortunately it got stuck half way down so I couldn’t get it shut or open. Phoned the AA who sent Adrian from G.R.S out to assist. He was very friendly and efficient and fortunately got the roof closed which was a relief. I broke down extremely late on a very dark dual carriage. Adrian from GRS came out to me. He was so friendly and helpful. He brought me some fuel ⛽ which unfortunately didn't solve my problem so he towed me to the nearest garage where he also stayed with me and then had to charge my battery. All this time he was in the freezing cold and still cheerful. He managed to sort my car issues out and helped me on my way. Adrian is definitely a star 🌟. He really is a bonus to the company. I had a puncture Thursday night (12/01/23). The call to GRS recovery was at 2045, with an estimated time of 2315. ADRIAN turned up in a van at about 2230. He suggested against using the Tyre Mobility Kit (TMK) that comes with modern cars (Kia), and instead used a plug puncture repair. I was on the road by 2300. The speed of recovery was good. ADRIAN's communication and conversation was excellent. The repair was quick and is far superior to using the TMK.

I was driving to see a friend in Bickton and my car developed a fault. A colleague from GRS was assigned to assist and James the mechanic was absolutely first rate in the assistance he provided.. After returning from holiday to my car and finding the battery flat the breakdown service RAC were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Having passed the job on to GRS they were amazing, professional, friendly, kept me informed and dealt with the ever useless RAC astonishingly well. They went above and beyond to help retrieve my car even going as far as collecting my keys, picking up the car, getting it going and even parking in my allocated parking spot. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of your technician. But he was brilliant in an embarrassing situation after my son put a plastic toy key on the ignition of my van and snapped it off!! Had to have my car recovered due to not starting a week after getting it and Sarah came out to recover the vehicle. She was wonderful, so friendly, helpful, funny and just a joy in a situation that could otherwise be very stressful she made it seem like a breeze. She went above and beyond and I can not say enough nice things about her! I know I went through the RAC but if I ever have to pay out of pocket then I will use you.

I called them on the off-chance they could help my sister whose car had a puncture at a petrol station and needed to get home. They were great and came out in 10 minutes. Took the car home and even put it on the drive for her! This is the second time they've helped us when RAC couldn't! Would definitely recommend if you need help fast!

I managed to break down today in the car park at M&S food hall . The RAC tried to start my car but were unable to do so. They arranged for GRS to transport the car to my garage. GRS arrived in a breakdown lorry driven by Paul. Without any fuss he managed to get my Range Rover Sport out of the busy car park, onto his lorry, and delivered the car and passengers in a short space of time. Thank you Paul for your curtesy and professionalism, you are a star. 🌟

I thoroughly recommend GRS who were tasked by Audi Assist and the AA to recover my car and I hope they note how pleased I am. Good customer service is commonplace these days. Outstanding customer service rather rarer. Today I experienced the latter from GRS with Jason and Joe on site. My car was stuck in the garage at home. Inoperable electric brake stuck on, no steering and automatic in park. Sounds an easy job? Not so, garage/driveway space is restricted and manoeuvring tight. The thing to note is that every action from removing the car from the garage to putting it on the low loader was considered. Nothing was rushed but every action was completed right and first time. Jason and Joe knew what to do and had the right specialist equipment on site. This was a job done promptly, safely and effectively. Well done and thank you GRS. I'm impressed with your people on site and those in the office who kept me informed.

Such efficient service from GRS. My wife was stranded in the dark with a flat battery and within an hour, GRS turned up and sorted it all out. I had GRS come out to my car this week due to my car keys being stolen. I have to say the the chap who was working that night on the phones went above and beyond for me. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he got me out of a hole and saved me alot of money. Even the driver of the recovery truck done his best to make sure my car had got on to his lorry as my electric handbrake was locked on so managed to put the wheels on skates. Highly recommended this company.

Thank you so much to Adrian who went well above and beyond standard customer service. I had a non starter battery that required a boot and maybe because it was Saturday night took quite some time to get sorted. That has nothing to do with this review. Adrian, a gentleman with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor, -and a patient non-condecending way of discussing these issues I was having, made the roadside assist, a pleasant interaction rather than the "Stand back, don't talk to me, I know what I'm doing attitude we have all experienced before. He had me started instantly and then in a extremely kind gesture followed me the 1.5 miles or so back to my home -just in case the stop start kicked in, whereupon only half of that stop/start thing would apply, the wrong half.. That was something he did not have to do but was so appreciated. Top service.. Thank you Adrian and GRS recovery for employing such helpful staff as well! 6 stars.

10 days ago at 9.30 at night, we turned off our ignition while waiting in a queue at a level crossing in Lymington. When we went to re-start it, our car key fob wouldn't work. We have a 'keyless' car so were completely stuck. We were in a very dangerous position... broken down in the middle of the road....and very worried indeed. Fortunately the AA contacted Adrian from GRS who immediately called us to say he was on his way, but was coming from Bournemouth. He rang us several times during his journey to update us on his progress and reassure us. He was a STAR! It turned out that our key fob battery had just 'died' without any warning. (Apparently they do this!) Fortunately he had a spare battery for his own key fob, which he gave us. From the minute he first called, we knew we were going to be well looked after. At half past midnight, we were on our way again. Adrian was really great and we cannot recommend GRS highly enough. Thankyou!

Got to me within 20 minutes even though the insurance company said 90 so very speedy. James, who was the mechanic took the time and effort to find the fault and repair it when it was thought to just be a jumpstart, rather than just recovering the vehicle. Also told me exactly what the problem was and what to do going forward and I was back on the road in no time. Thanks to James for your help!!

Absolutely excellent service from GRS. Had to be recovered on Saturday from outside Dorchester. Initial call was via Volvo Assistance but when GRS picked up the job it was beyond what I expected. I’ve just had a gentleman come and look at my Mercedes, which I called my warranty company who sent grs out, well they came out within 40 mins, and what a lovely gentleman who ran a diagnostics test on my car and cleared the fault, and now is work fine, he went through the issues. Lee was fantastic, very friendly and we had a great chat about lorries and truck driving in the way back! He came out to recover us as quickly as possible, he dropped off on our street and helped us to get parked safely. He found us despite the incorrect directions given by green flag and kept me informed during his journey out to us. GRS recovered my campervan when it's brakes failed on the slipway of the Sandbanks to Studland ferry on my way to a girls weekend in the Purbecks Phil was so reassuring following my phone call- he arranged for the vehicle to be delivered back to my home in Highcliffe whilst my friend and I were picked up by another friend so that we could continue our weekend break. Shout out to the ferry man Stuart who looked after my keys ( as suggested by Phil) so that I didn't have to hang around for the Recovery truck. I then received a call from Phils colleague, once the van was safely home and the keys put through the letter box. All together a brilliant service at an extremely competitive price. Would highly recommend!

My breakdown cover arranged for GRS to recover my vehicle stuck in reverse gear due to clutch hydraulic failure that was in a busy Aldi car park in the evening. He excellently manoeuvered my vehicle somehow onto his recovery truck and was able to drop it off at my local garage up a lane and park whilst still stuck in Reverse gear all the time. I lost all power to my vehicle at 9pm on Wednesday evening. The breakdown could not have been in a worse place, on the main road through Corfe Castle in Dorset: , narrow, on an uphill bend, unlit in the shadow of the Castle. Within 10 mins of the AA putting me in touch with GRS a mechanic arrived, moved the car to a safer location, determined I needed to be recovered and ordered the pick up. The truck, driven by Dominic, arrived in less than an hour, gave me notice of his arrival, picked me up and delivered my very kaput vehicle to my normal repair garage in Swanage and then me to my home in the town. Dominic came and rescued us after we had a shredded tyre on the A31. Our contract meant that we had to be taken to our local dealership - who couldn’t help! - so without any fuss he reloaded it onto the low-loader and took us to someone who could help, saving not just the day, but a good couple of days, as we were 200 miles away from home! I've been recovered twice by Dan from GRS and can't speak highly enough of the service - he really knows his stuff and diagnosed the problem within minutes and got me going again. He is also very personable and pleasant in his manner, which helps when stranded in the middle of nowhere! Only issue was a two hour wait on the first call-out, but it was a busy time. Less than an hour on the second.

I can’t thank James from GRS Recovery enough for his incredible help when I broke down on the busy Hurn Road on Friday, 4th July evening. It was a really stressful situation, but James arrived quickly and handled everything with such professionalism and care. He managed to get my car safely off the road and moved me to a safer location, which was such a relief. Not only did he fix my car right there and then, but he also went the extra mile by calling me later before his shift ended, just to make sure I was okay. A deserved mention and heartfelt thank you to GRS Recovery. The team did a truly spectacular job recovering my car especially Tris, who took on the task of rescuing my tiny car, Delilah. Even when my car was being recovered i was updated and sent photos of my car and even a tiny memorabilia video of my car before she went away 🥲the service, support, and kindness from the entire team were outstanding and genuinely felt. as a young driver, i was in a bad state and shock after my crash accident on the B3070 road towards lulworth cove at 11.30 i rung AA and the came in about 1HR after it happened, they couldn’t recover my car then and there due to insufficient supplies, so coming down the road was a GRS van and we managed to flag him down and they said they could recover my car. i went through insurance and my company placed the job on GRS anyway. but Tris, along with a lovely woman (whose name i unfortunately, didn’t catch) helped calm me down and reassured me that everything would be okay and they went above and beyond by helping me navigate the insurance and documentation process when I didn’t know where to start. I feel extremely lucky to be here and I’m beyond thankful for everything the GRS team did for me. Thank you so much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼sad goodbye to delilah but she was handled with care by tris and his team!

GRS came to my aid today when my car broke down in a Sainsbury's car park. I received a call to tell me they were on the way and asked my location within the car park. I felt instantly at ease with just the phonecall. Gentleman arrived a few moments later with a gentle and sympathetic smile. He checked over the car for me as best he could just to be sure it wasn't a quick fix issue, alas the car was not going to start. He talked me through the next steps for getting the car onto the truck and getting home. Helped me and my young daughter into the back of his truck before doing the necessaries with the car. Tackling all manner of grumpy people in the process. Poor fellow. But he never let that effect his interactions with myself and my daughter. My little one had the best experience! And so did I. We were home safe and sound in no time and I cannot thank him enough. Our hero! Would recommended GRS to anyone in a bit of a pinch like the one I found myself in today.

My van broke down in highcliffe and after 2 visits from GRS it was decided to recover it back home. So a chap called Jamie called to say he has the van and on his way. I needed the van on the drive as im a mobile dog groomer so needed to carry on working from home in the van. I explained this to Jamie and with winching shunting for about 20 mins he managed to get it excatly where I needed it. I can honestly say that Jamie is an outstanding operative who knows excatly what to do with his lorry. Absolutely over the moon with the service. Breaking down is obviously, stressful, time consuming and disheartening. Especially after a week away camping! That said, our recovery with GRS was probably the best experience you can have with something like this. They were quick to our location, professional and courteous. The vehicle was well maintained and they got us home, a whole 2 and a half hours away, in bank holiday traffic, in great time, without any changes. On a personal note, I really want to thank Tris, the driver, as he was so lovely to the kids and went out of his way to engage with them about their holiday and to keep them entertained. It really was a next level of customer service. We really want to thank him for everything he did. We can't recommend them enough.

Our car broke down in Poole the AA subbed the job out to this company after having numerous bad experiences with recovery companies it is refreshing to find a good one. Super friendly team who got us out of a rough spot when the van broke down on the last run during a house move. They came out late on Friday night to try fix it, couldn’t sort at the side of the road (no fault of theirs at all), and organised quick recovery of the van shortly after. Managed to squeeze the flatbed into the tightest spot I’ve ever seen, and worked quickly to get us moving again. Afraid I didn’t get either of the guys names who helped us, but what a credit to the company. 100% recommend, and although I hopefully won’t need their services again, I’d be thrilled if it was GRS who come to help next time.

Excellent customer service tonight from Matt in the office who was amazing at getting us the help we needed to recover our car. A very big thank you to Adrian who was very polite, professional and very skilful at recovering our vehicle. We would highly recommend GRS and would definately use them again.

Brilliant service from Dom. 4 weeks ago I broke down on a busy main road, school closing time. Called National Breakdown who organised GRS Recovery. I was kept up to date with eta and was also called to check they had arrived. Dom, from GRS arrived within 2 hours, sat me in the cab while he put my car on his pickup, only took 10 minutes! It was a really cold afternoon/evening so I was really grateful to have been recovered so quickly. As a woman on her own, I felt very safe, Dom was kind, considerate and understanding. GRS would be my first call without hesitation should I find myself in a similar position. Thank you GRS team and particularly Dom.

We had James one of GRS Break down engineers come to our rescue yesterday 24th December 2025 who was absolutely Brilliant and his knowledge was outstanding his behaviour was a credit to to GRS and his care towards our car was exceptional and we knew instantly we were in safe hands with him having us back on the Road very quickly . James Care towards us was very respectful and reassuring.and he explained everything he was doing every step of the way.

Massive thank you to the amazing guy who attended our breakdown earlier today in the Woodman Pub carpark on the Ringwood Road, I didn’t get your name but you were a complete star, arrived quickly, checked the car out and found the problem and managed to sort it out so we could get home, gave us detailed info of what you’d done and what we need to get sorted out. I managed to jam shut my new camper van door this morning. It turned out to be a very quick fix for someone with the right know how and the correct tools. The gentleman who attended was just lovely and was very reassuring when I was feeling rather stressed and upset.

Absolutely totally professional and skilled at their job, the operator lifted my vehicle like it was the most delicate car on the road!!!! My car was immobile due to steering lock failure. GRS operative Lee arrived within half an hour loaded the car and drove it to my garage. Despite limited room managed to position his truck to offload my car directly into the garage despite the steering being locked. Excellent service. THANK YOU 👍 Brian Larkins

We became aware of GRS Recovery when we called the AA for assistance after sustaining a puncture. GRS were sent to assist us on behalf of the AA. GRS kept us informed of their commitment to assist us and arrived within 1 hour of our call. Lee assessed our problem, we had a puncture, but have a car with no spare, and our attempts to use the 'quick repair kit' failed. Instead of taking the easy option of getting us to a garage to resolve our problem, he repaired the puncture himself with a magic repair kit. We were very impressed with the service we received, thank you, especially Lee, he is a superstar!

This evening Adrian and Billy rescued me after a blown out tyre on my camper van on a busy road. They were absolutely brilliant - friendly, efficient, calming, skilful and informative. They were super quick on the scene and made me feel safe and looked after, even giving me advice of what I needed to do next to get the spare wheel seen to. Thank-you so so much, you guys are awesome ☺️

I had a breakdown and thought it could be the battery, so called my breakdown cover company who sent GRS. Lee arrived within half hour or so of my call, tested the battery and checked diagnostics, found no issue but the car wouldn’t start over. Completed a recovery towing my car on the flatbed truck all the way home and parking it where I normally park at home. Great service throughout the whole time. Thank you!

Excellent service received today on relative's foreign Vw T5 camper. Much faster response time than what we've received from local competitor in recent times. Recovery driver said he was new to the firm and area but very efficient and absolutely charming - a credit to GRS. Thank you

Broke down on very dark road on A31 near ringwood, cars flying past GRS got to us very quickly, checking to see my disabled elderly husband was ok while they werenon their way, very reassuring, took us 25 miles home & Thomas was fantastic helped get my husband into his wheelchair & got broken car safely parked, the service was fantastic from start to finish, they are an efficient effective company with a caring company ethic. Great job thank you .

While it did take some time to get to me (out of my own doing as initially had cancelled) the team sent one of their best (Lee). The recovery went smooth from southampton to Byfleet before handing me over to someone else. At this point I was so tired beyond belief. The Grs team had been very communicative and transparent about timings. Just wish they could take me all the way to stansted as their vehicle was so comfortable 🤓🤓

I can’t thank GRS Recovery enough for the support they’ve given me. Every time I’ve needed help, they’ve been incredibly reliable and quick to respond. They’ve always managed to find my location without any issues, which is such a relief in stressful situations. On both occasions I’ve needed them for my bike, they recovered it in under an hour, which is seriously impressive. I’ve only ever had them come out to my home address, and each time they’ve handled everything quickly and smoothly. Knowing they can get to you that fast takes a lot of the stress out of a bad situation. What really stands out is how polite and kind the team are. They treat you with respect and understanding, which makes a huge difference when you’re already dealing with a breakdown or a difficult moment.
