How to reclaim your vehicle
-1- Contact Us
Call GRS Recovery on 01202 593939 between 9:00am and 6:00pm to confirm the vehicle is in our secure compound and to arrange collection.
-2- Provide Photo ID
Accepted forms of ID are:
• A valid Passport
• UK Driving Licence
• EU National Identity Card
• Home Office Immigration Documents
Student or employer ID cards will not be accepted.
-3- Provide Proof of Address
This must be a current and valid document showing your name and address (e.g. a utility bill, or a bank statement).
-4- Provide Proof of Vehicle Ownership
You must present one of the following documents:
• The V5C logbook
• A valid insurance certificate in your name
• The V5C/2 new keeper slip if you have recently purchased the vehicle
-5- Pay release and storage fees
All applicable fees must be paid before the vehicle can be released to you.
Without any of the above, your vehicle will not be released.

Payment of Charges
To reclaim your vehicle, the following statutory charges apply under the Traffic Management Act:
• £105 vehicle removal fee
• £12 per day (or part day) for vehicle storage while impounded
Payment must be made in full before the vehicle can be released.
Temporary Charges – August 2025 Trial Scheme
The Department for Transport (DfT) has approved a trial, led by BCP Council, to increase Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) levels and vehicle removal fees across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.
This trial will run throughout August 2025, and applies to vehicles removed in designated areas during this period.
Charges Applicable During the Trial
• £280 vehicle removal fee
• £55 per day (or part day) for vehicle storage while impounded
• £100 vehicle disposal fee
Storage charges apply from 23:59 on the day following removal, and are calculated per calendar day or part day.
Payment must be made in full before the vehicle can be released.
Behaviour Towards Staff
Abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in your removal from the premises.
Please be advised that GRS Recovery act on the instruction and authority of BCP Council, and do not decide which vehicles to impound. Our team our here to assist you, please treat them accordingly.
Appeals and Complaints
If you believe your vehicle was wrongly impounded or that the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) was issued in error, you have the right to appeal, however you must still pay the release and storage charges in full before any appeal can be made.
Appeals cannot be made by phone. All challenges must be made in writing, either:
- Online at bcpcouncil.gov.uk/pcn (You can also view images of the contravention online)
- By Post to BCP Council Parking Administration, PO Box 9361, Christchurch, BH23 9LW
You should quote the PCN Number, the vehicle registration, your name and address in all contacts/correspondence.
